Special News! Upcoming Performances
I am excited to announce that I have a few more performances coming up before the end of the semester!
On Monday, May 2, 2022, at 7:30 PM at Thompson Recital Hall, the class I am in, Music for the Stage, will be performing our Peking and Beijing Opera Scenes! We have had the honor of working with Professor Po-Wei Wang of Wesleyan University on our scenes, and about the cultural importance of Peking and Beijing Opera across China. We have incorporated elements from the art form, including percussion, movement, and story techniques, into scripts we have made ourselves.
On Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at 7:30 PM at Thompson Recital Hall, Music for the Stage will be performing musical theater and opera scenes. I will be singing “Sull’aria” from Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, and “Some Things are Meant to Be” from the musical Little Women by Jason Howland. There will be more duets and scenes presented by my classmates, in addition to two large group numbers from Gilbert and Sullivan musicals.
On Sunday, May 8, 2022 at 3 PM in Kresge Concert Hall, DePauw Combined Choirs and Band will be performing a joint concert. The concert will feature Song of Democracy by Howard Hanson.
On Friday, May 13th, I will be performing for my Sophomore Proficiency Juries! The program will be 20 minutes long, and include music in Latin, Italian, French, German, and English. Although this is a closed event, I hope to be hosting recitals soon!
